In order to record data with the Airbeam2, you have to connect the sensor to the mobile phone using the AirCasting app. Further information is available on the Quick Start Guide provided in your Kids Making Sense kit.
First, launch the AirCasting App by tapping the A icon on the home screen of the phone. You should see the launch screen of the AirCasting app, and then the Dashboard will appear.
Next, turn the sensor on by pressing down on the toggle switch located at the bottom of the device. The LED light above the toggle switch will first turn red, and after about 15 seconds will turn green. (Note that cats is not included in our kits!)
Go back to the AirCasting app and press the Configure AirBeam2 button. The paired AirBeam2 should appear in the Available Devices list - check that the AirBeam2 number shown on the app matches the label on your AirBeam2 sensor. If this is correct, press the Connect button.
When prompted, choose the Mobile session type.
The LED light above the sensor's on-off button should now turn blue-ish white.
If the light on your AirBeam2 does not turn silver, or your phone registers an error with the AirCasting app, turn off the AirBeam2. If the AirCasting app is still open, press the square icon on the bottom of your screen, and select Clear All; this will force close the app. Repeat the steps above and try again.
If paired successfully, the dashboard view of the AirCasting app should now change to show you data collected by the sensor. You are ready to start an AirCasting session - you can do so by selecting the Recording Button (circle at the top right of the screen).
PS: Please remember that these instructions are also included in the "Quick Start Guide" that we deliver with our curriculum kit.
